  • AWA Cabins are very rustic and simple. Open-air concept. Mosquito nets and dry composting toilets. Camping in your own tent is available for $5 USD per night, which includes access to a shared kitchen and bathrooms. You can also trade work for housing in AWA Projects such as Town To Town and many others, and even become a strong member of our team in the field you want to specialize.

  • Colibrí cabina

    The Colibri cabina is a lightweight design using recycled pallets for the floor and wood grown on site for the structure. Big mountain views. Mosquito net. Water. Electricity. Composting toilet. Living roof. 2 floors.Access to shared kitchen. $25 USD per night.

  • Pajarito cabina.

    Tiny cabina for 1 person. Mosquito net. Includes access to shared kitchen. $10 USD Per night

  • Paloma Cabina

    The Paloma Cabina is built from wood grown on site and recycled clothing and blankets mixed with cement. Living roof. Nestled in the food forest gardens. Composting toilet. Water. Electricity. Shared kitchen. $25 USD per night.

  • Aguila cabina

    Nestled in food forest gardens and on the edge of the virgin forest. The Aguila cabina was built with wood and sticks grown and harvested on site at AWA Forest. Transparent greenhouse plastic roof for indoor growing and great natural lighting for painting, arts, etc... Extremely open design. Mosquito net. Water. Electricity. $30 per night.

Walking Directions

 

From Chimirol Ferria, take the first right, and cross the Monterey Bridge. Monterey entrance is approximately 1 kilometer up from Chimirol Ferria,. Just after bridge, turn left, passing the strange fenced water meter. Pass the house and immediately turn right, opening and reclosing the barbed wire fence. Cross the small stream and follow the path up, up, up, Passing through forest, coffee plantation, an old abandoned house, and then enter the forest at the big oak tree above the coffee. Keep going. . Follow signs to studio or private housing depending on your appointment. Call out or whistle when approaching buildings. Slips and falls in the mud are fun potentials. Driving Directions

 

4x4 only From Chimirol, approximately 1 kilometer up. Take first right. Cross Monterey bridge. Pass houses and go up, up, up around a few steep curves. Once up you will see two small houses on the left and a white house on the right. The next left is the entrance. You will see a bright orange house in the distance on the private road. Park on main road, or if feeling confident and adventurous, continue on the dirt and mud road past the orange house, through the forest and park in the forest of at the top of steep hill. Hill can be dangerously slippery when wet. Please do not drive on the plaza. Follow signs to studio or private housing depending on your appointment. Call out or whistle when approaching buildings.
